Marsh Island Soaps, a woman-owned business proudly based in historic Old Town, Maine, on the banks of the Penobscot River.
We believe that what you put on your body matters. That’s why our soaps are made in small batches using the cold-process method, utilizing only premium-quality butters, nourishing oils, and exceptional fragrance or essential oils. Cured patiently for at least four weeks, our soaps are as unique as the rugged Maine landscape that inspires them. Because everything is handmade in small quantities, no two batches are exactly alike—giving you a truly artisanal experience every time you wash.

How to Care for Your Handmade Soap
Because our soaps are crafted with natural ingredients and zero artificial hardeners, they love to stay dry between uses! Giving your bar a little breathing room is the absolute best way to make your bar last.
To keep your favorite soap firm, fresh, and ready for your next routine, we recommend one of these two simple steps:
Elevate it on a tray: Place your bar on a well-draining or slotted soap tray that allows water to escape. Keeping it out of standing water ensures it doesn’t get soggy!
Hang it in a saver bag: Slip your bar into a breathable soap saver pouch and hang it up by the drawstring to air-dry between showers.
Bonus: The mesh doubles as a gentle, glorious exfoliator while you wash! A free soap saver bag is included with your purchase.
